Buying the device, in-country

Shipping a laptop into Nigeria is a customs problem, a timing problem and a warranty problem. Buying one here is none of those — provided it comes through the official channel rather than the grey market, which is also what makes automatic enrolment into your Apple Business Manager possible.

Why local sourcing usually wins

A machine shipped from Europe or the US arrives with duty to settle, a customs clearance that nobody can put a date on, and a warranty that is awkward to exercise from Lagos. For a new starter with a Monday start date that is three separate ways to miss it.

Sourced in-country, the device is bought, configured and delivered on a timeline somebody can commit to, and it is supported by people in the same time zone as the person using it.

Through the official supply chain, not the grey market

This matters more in Nigeria than it does almost anywhere else. A great deal of Apple hardware in this market arrives outside the official channel: parallel imports, refurbished stock sold as new, devices with a warranty that cannot be exercised and a provenance nobody can evidence. For a consumer that is a risk. For a company buying fifty machines it is an audit finding.

GreyFusion buys through Apple’s authorised distribution for the region. That is not a badge for its own sake — it is the thing that makes automated enrolment possible at all, because only a device supplied through a registered reseller can be placed in your Apple Business Manager at the point of purchase.

  • Apple → authorised regional distribution → GreyFusion → your ABM → your MDM → your employee
  • Genuine stock with a warranty that can actually be exercised here
  • Provenance that can be evidenced, per serial, rather than asserted

What GreyFusion sources

Apple hardware is the core of it — GreyFusion has been an Apple product reseller in Abuja since before the device business existed, out of Emab Plaza in Wuse 2 — and business Windows laptops from the usual enterprise ranges. Accessories are part of the same order rather than an afterthought, because a laptop with no charger is not a working laptop.

  • MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini, iPad and iPhone
  • Business Windows laptops — the standard enterprise ranges
  • Chargers, adapters, docks, keyboards, mice, sleeves and cases
  • Monitors and peripherals for a home-office setup

The specification is agreed before anything is bought

You say what the role needs — or hand us a standard build per job family — and the quote names the exact model, memory, storage and accessories. What arrives is what was quoted, and the serial of what arrived is on the record from the first day rather than from the day somebody got round to typing it in.

Warranty and what happens when it breaks

A device bought here is supported here. If it develops a fault, the fault is recorded, quoted, and nothing is spent until you answer the quote — you can approve the repair, decline it, or defer the decision, and a decline still asks what should happen to the device instead.

Questions we get asked

Can you buy devices on our behalf in Nigeria?
Yes. GreyFusion sources the hardware through Apple’s authorised distribution for the region, configures and enrols it, and delivers it to the employee. The specification is agreed and quoted before anything is purchased.
How do we know the devices are genuine channel stock?
Because they come through Apple’s authorised distribution rather than a parallel import, and because a device supplied that way can be placed in your Apple Business Manager at purchase — which a grey-market device cannot. The enrolment is itself the evidence.
Is it cheaper to ship our own laptops in?
Rarely, once duty, clearance time and the difficulty of exercising a warranty from abroad are counted. It also puts an unpredictable customs delay between you and a start date.
Can you match a standard build across our whole team?
Yes. Give us a standard specification per job family and every device for that family is sourced, configured and enrolled the same way.
